New Faces at CETEC
Over the last year we have had a number of new consultants start at CETEC. These new
CETEC faces include Dr Paulo Da Silva, Dr Euneace Teoh, Jack
Noonan, Roger Thompson, Travis Hale, Nick Ganter and Dr Ali Thaqi. We hope you get
to talk or meet with them soon.
Dr Paulo Da Silva has a doctorate in organic chemistry from UNSW
and more than four years experience as a post-doctoral researcher
(UNSW). Since joining CETEC in September last year, Paulo has enjoyed a
variety of site projects involving Indoor Environment Quality
(investigations, measurement and assessments), NABERS, Hazardous
Materials audits and remediation, risk management plans and cooling
tower, soil and water testing and assessments. Paulo enjoys
photography and keeping fish (including at the CETEC Sydney office) and
he is pictured on the right with one of his 3-year-old twin boys,
Miguel.
Dr Euneace Teoh, also joined CETEC in September 2009. Euneace has
a doctorate major in Green and Sustainable Chemistry with a focus on
metal catalysis in organic synthesis. Euneace's key areas of
responsibility at CETEC are for Sustainable Products and Processes
and she is also a NATA signatory for FORAY Laboratories and
has considerable expertise in the procedures and test methods for the
determination of Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) and Formaldehye
in Air Samples by Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (GCMS).
Euneace is also a crazy soccer fan who is currently enjoying the World Cup!

Jack Noonan, Travis
Hale, Ali Thaqi, Nick Ganter and Euneace Teoh
Jack Noonan joined
CETEC earlier this year following the completion of a Master of Business
(Science and Technology). Jack also has a double degree Bachelor
of Science (Genetics)/ Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from Monash
University. Jack is an Environmental Consultant at CETEC with a
particular interest in sustainability, the relationship between indoor
environment quality and productivity, and project management. During his
time with CETEC thus far, he has already been engaged with managing risk
for a number of Victorian hospitals. In addition to this, Jack is
involved with business development and marketing operations for the
company.
When away from CETEC, Jack enjoys spending time with his family and
friends and is passionate about soccer, his beloved Carlton Football
Club, and the Australian wine industry.
Roger Thompson has
been working with CETEC since ea rly this year and is responsible for our
operations in Western Australia. Roger has Bachelor of Science
(Chemistry and Geology) and a MBA. He has over forty years of experience
in the minerals industry and has also had much exposure to the oil and
gas industries throughout his professional career. Since joining CETEC,
Roger has been engaged by our clients as an Environmental Consultant
to conduct air quality and monitoring plus risk assessments of hazardous
materials including asbestos. Roger is a man who is passionate about his
garden and he enjoys nature walks through Australia’s forestry.
Dr Ali Thaqi just
recently started at CETEC and is part of the Sustainable Environments
and Accreditation team. He has a strong interest and background in
science and has completed an Honours Degree in Science and a Doctorate
Degree in Organic Chemistry from Monash University. Ali appreciate
sports and high powered cars!
Travis Hale, who joined CETEC recently, has a degree in Biotechnology
with a strong microbiology background. At CETEC he is working in
Sustainable Materials team, managing Material Emissions, Materials
Durability and Performance, Toxicology and Nanotechnology services.
Travis is also a CFA Volunteer and soon to embark on becoming a CFA
Incident Controller / Fire Mapping Predictor.
Nick Ganter has been working as a
Consultant at CETEC for several months. Nick has a Master of
Environmental Planning as well as a degree in Marine Science and
Management. At CETEC Nick has been involved with various soil
contamination projects, and he thoroughly enjoys being a part of the
environmental consulting process, including site assessment and sample
collecting to writing reports and liaising with clients. Nick also
enjoys playing guitar, tending to his vegetable garden and his planted
aquarium.
