Green Star Training
Courses
The Green Building
Council of Australia’s (GBCA) Green Star rating scheme has
established itself as an important tool for assessing building
sustainability. To support the Green Star rating scheme there are
a number of training courses available to provide you with
detailed knowledge.
The first course is the Green Star
Accredited Professional. This gives you a comprehensive
understanding of the Green Star system with a focus upon
content and its practical application. Some people who undertake
this training also choose to also complete the exam to become a
Green Star Accredited Professional. But this is not mandatory.
While the Green Star Accredited Professional may seem to be the domain
of Architects, Designers and ESD Consultants, manufacturers and
suppliers of building materials should not overlook this valuable
training.
As manufacturers and suppliers of building materials you can gain
insight into the requirements that your products must achieve to be
suitable for Green Star buildings, or green buildings in general. You
can benchmark the strengths and weaknesses of your products in
order to meet the demands of Architects and Designers who
specify green buildings. Furthermore, as a manufacturer or supplier
you can develop accurate promotional materials that address the
sustainability needs of
the market.
After completing the
Green Star Accredited Professional course, the other
training you should consider is the Green Star Office
Interiors. This includes detailed guidance about completing the
important Materials Calculator.
By becoming a Green Star Accredited Professional this allows
you the opportunity to participate in Green Star building projects.
Dr Robert Schiller of CETEC is a Green Star Accredited Professional.
Please feel free to
contact or call him if you want his opinion
about the benefits of the Green Star training or if you
require a Green Star assessment of your building or project.
