Since the introduction of the Federal Government's Commercial Building Disclosure Legislation (www.cbd.gov.au), where any commercial office building that is over 2,000m² in net lettable area and is for sale or lease, must disclose a NABERS Energy Rating on any form of advertising. This is achieved by gaining and displaying a Building Energy Efficiency Certificate.

CETEC has over 20 years experience of indoor air quality and indoor environment including audits, investigations, testing and occupant satisfaction surveys. Due to our extensive knowledge and experience in indoor environment CETEC was appointed by NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC -  now called Office of Environment and Heritage) to develop NABERS for Office Indoor Environment in 2008.

On the behalf of DECC, CETEC undertook three pilot NABERS Indoor Environment ratings and two pilot NABERS Waste ratings.  CETEC has also completed official NABERS Indoor Environment and Waste ratings.
